    • Gingles; Easton; Williams, Stille, Lovelace, Siegel, Banfield, Blake, and Drayton were captains and former BOAC pilots, the forerunner of British Airways. They were employed by PIA on a short term contract because the airline was facing an acute shortage of captains on the 707/720 fleet due to induction of wide body aircraft. Stille was a Lancaster bomber pilot of WWII and knew about Quetta where he must flown to or had been stationed. Some of them were good and others didn’t have the experience on the 707 or jet flying. They may have flown other propeller aircraft types and had less experience on jets.

      I remember a captain on route check (name withheld) with Captain M. Ahmed on KHI-RWP-KHI sector in which I was the first officer. I was sitting on jump seat in the cockpit and the landing at Rawalpindi by the captain was a controlled crash almost. On approach for landing he could not keep the wings level, and kept rocking them from side to side, Dutch rolling, an over control phenomenon. You should let go of the controls when this occurs and the aircraft corrects itself because of the hydraulic yaw damper on the rudder. Usually it happens in the early stages on jets and inexperience. It happened to my copilot, Rizwan while landing at Peshawar from the Gulf area. I just told him to leave the controls and aircraft recovered itself. You should inquire about them from their former employer or PIA. I am not sure why you inquired from CAA UK about them and further I am not sure what you want me to do with your post.

    There also a story of Indian Muslim
    National pilot who applied for above job
    With PIA who was presumed to hold
    ATPL 707 type rating and his father

    Remember the son and fathers name but the son was employed by PIA on the B707 and during a check ride he
    Failed the chief pilot training who ever he was at that time inquired about his
    ATPL and it was false he was dismissed now people names are the tip of my tough . The son and father were extremely dishonest were the father used a ex PIA 707 to operate on cargo flights to Africa .. on this operations he used a co pilot with a PPL and also his
    Son and some flight engineer . The 707 the leased pan am that PIA got on its
    Essential 707 operations reg I forget don’t have time to cross check .
    The story reads bits were falling off the 707 when the son and father was operating the aircraft out of lasham
    Airfield on take off and slashed a top of a hedge leaving spare parts .. the
    Aircraft was not air worthy … engines were leaking and had faults all over
    It .
    Now the gist of the matter is if a pilot
    With false pilot licence can join PIA
    Without checks then probably PIA
    Were correct in taking British pilots
